- "This is taking too long. Destroy that cruiser."
"But sir, there are still hundreds of droids on board!"
"I don't care."
- ―TF-1726 and a B1 battle droid
TF-1726 was a masculine-programmed T-series tactical droid who commanded a fleet of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Sky Battle of Quell of the Clone Wars, in which his Munificent-class star frigates ambushed a flotilla of the Galactic Republic, led by Jedi General Aayla Secura. During the battle, which took place in the highest levels of Quell's atmosphere, TF-1726's frigates destroyed two of Secura's Venator-class Star Destroyers. The droid then sent hundreds of rocket pack–equipped B2-RP battle droids to invade Secura's damaged command ship, the Liberty. However, an evacuation party, led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, arrived to help Secura, destroying many battle droids. Becoming impatient, the tactical droid ordered his frigate's gunners to open fire on the Liberty. As a result, all of the droids still aboard the destroyer went down with it. However, Secura and the evacuation party escaped the ship before its destruction. After the Republic's evacuation cruiser accidentally jumped to hyperspace, the tactical droid's fleet was left to continue the battle with the remaining Republic Star Destroyers. ==Biography==
- "We have them now, send in the super droids."
- ―TF-1726, during the battle
One of the many droids created by Baktoid Combat Automata, a green-and-white-plated T-series tactical droid served in the Navy of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the second year of the Clone Wars. During that time, the planet Quell, located in the Quell system of the Outer Rim Territories, had become a contested site between the Confederacy and the Galactic Republic. TF-1726 led a fleet of several Munificent-class star frigates against Jedi General Aayla Secura's flotilla of three Venator-class Star Destroyers of the Republic Navy in the highest levels of Quell's atmosphere. Commanding the fleet from his lead frigate, the droid and his forces ambushed Secura's destroyers, initiating the Sky Battle of Quell.
While opening heavy turbolaser fire on Secura's forces, the tactical droid's fleet deployed several Vulture droid fighters to engage the Republic V-19 Torrent starfighters. Although one of the Munificent-class frigates was shot down by the Republic ships, the Confederacy started to gain the advantage, sending two of Secura's damaged cruisers plunging down to the surface of the planet. Before long, Secura's personal command ship, the Liberty, lost its deflector shields, prompting the tactical droid to order several hundred rocket pack–equipped B2-RP battle droids to board the crippled Star Destroyer. The battle droids had invaded the Liberty when another Republic ship, the Resolute, arrived from hyperspace and dispatched several LAAT/i gunships and a Consular-class cruiser to evacuate Secura and her crew.
The evacuation party, led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, and Secura's remaining forces destroyed several battle droids aboard the Liberty, which delayed the battle's outcome as calculated by the tactical droid. Not tolerating the wait, the droid ordered his gunners to concentrate all of the frigate's fire at the Liberty, ignoring the fact that hundreds of battle droids were still onboard. The resulting laser bombardment set the destroyer's inner corridors on fire, which consumed battle droids and Republic clone troopers alike. However, Skywalker, Secura, and the evacuation party were able to escape from the ship aboard the Consular-class cruiser just before the Liberty was completely destroyed. When the group tried to board the Resolute, the tactical droid's starfighters attacked their ship, causing the cruiser's hyperdrive to accidentally activate. The cruiser jumped to hyperspace, leaving the Resolute and its commanding officer, Admiral Wullf Yularen, to continue the battle with the tactical droid's Confederate fleet.==Characteristics==
As a tactical droid, TF-1726 was far more intelligent than the standard battle droids of the Separatist Droid Army. Not controlled by a central control computer, he could think and function independently. He stood 1.93 meters in height and possessed white photoreceptors. The droid was eager to defeat his opponents, and, when the Liberty became vulnerable to boarding, he immediately sent his droid forces to board the Star Destroyer. A calculating droid, he estimated that the invading battle droids would swiftly win the battle. However, he started to grow impatient as the battle lengthened. When his forces failed to achieve victory as scheduled, being late by four minutes, the tactical droid changed plans and ordered the Liberty to be targeted and destroyed immediately. A B1 battle droid gunner reminded him that hundreds of droids were still fighting inside the ship, but he lacked any concern for them.
==Behind the scenes==
A picture of TF-1726 was first seen in The Clone Wars: Headgames, an issue of the online Star Wars: The Clone Wars webcomic series. The picture was a screenshot from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television episode "Jedi Crash," in which he made his first on-screen appearance, voiced by Matthew Wood.
TF-1726 also appeared in the non-canonical video game LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. In the game's adaption of "Jedi Crash," the droid is surveying the Sky Battle of Quell when his B1 battle droid subordinate spots the Consular-class cruiser approaching the Liberty. The B1 droid shakes the tactical droid and points out the cruiser, after which the tactical droid orders one of his frigates to capture the cruiser. One of the frigates then traps the cruiser with a tractor beam but is soon destroyed by Skywalker, allowing the cruiser to continue with the evacuation.
